The Cagayan de Oro Hotel and Restaurnt Association (COHARA) will once again sponsor KUMBIRA, an annual culinary competition and show on August 15, 16 & 17, 2012 at the Atrium of Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City. It’s now on its 16th year and the event has taken a new concept promoting fun with its theme, “EATS MORE FUN IN KUMBIRA” (in support to the tourism industry’s “It’s more fun in the Philippines” tagline). The show is in line with the city’s 62nd charter day celebration.
As a member of CDO Bloggers, I am was emailed a copy of the list of activities of the 3-day steaming culinary activities like the various food beverage competition, cooking demonstrations, industry seminars, and trade exhibition on hotel and restaurants equipment. The event organizer expressed that they are aiming to raise funds for the livelihood projects of ‘Typhoon Sendong’ survivors at different relocation sites.
I am very much excited to be with some in this food tasting event and to see the latest food equipment on demo. I hope to see some Proctor Silex products in the show. Why Procter Silex among other manufacturers? Because the company had many firsts in the industry : the first silent toaster, first electric glass coffeemaker, first cord-attached iron, first toaster oven/broiler, first pop-up toaster/toaster oven, first adjustable automatic iron, first snap-apart line of serviceable kitchen appliances, and first see-through steam iron water tank. Procter Silex has 50 years of history in the appliance business. Actually, we have various kitchen tools and appliances in our ancestral home . Guess what? They are still working up to this moment. According to my mom, the company has a long-standing commitment to quality that is why it is known world-wide. Now, I am thinking to buy one of the Procter Silex Slow Cookers and blenders.
